Melanie's new scooter

One of Melanie's Christmas gifts was a new scooter. She was very surprised on Christmas to find that she had been given not only a scooter, but a Princess scooter. She tried riding in the house, but always seemed to get into trouble for doing that. Then the snow melted and it warmed up a little bit and we decided to go out and try the scooter. She had a great time riding it up and down the driveway.

Playing in the snow

During the first part of January we had very cold temperatures and snow. Melanie had a great time playing in the snow and helping to shovel. She also perfected her snow angels.

All bundled up and ready to play in the snow.

What a great job she did shoveling the walk.

December, 2009

December is always a fun month for us. Ron and I both have birthdays right after Christmas, and of course celebrating Christmas with Melanie is a wonderful experience.

This year was my 40th birthday and we came home on Christmas night to find a wonderful banner in our front yard.

This violin was given to Melanie by her cousins. They both take violin classes and are very good. This was their first violin.

November, 2009

November was also a quiet month for us. Ron and I went to Columbus to watch the Ohio State/Iowa football game. Melanie stayed with one of her aunts for the weekend.

Melanie decided she wanted to rake the leaves on day. I think she really just wanted to make a pile of them to jump in. She had a really good time raking them and jumping in them.

On Thanksgiving weekend we went to the Cincinnati Zoo's Festival of Lights. The zoo really did a great job this year with all the lights and everything they had there.
